I have caught alot in this ditch that all ways floods from the river. I catch them in a throw net quite frequently but never seen one that colorfull. I've heard that they are a very old species of fish, but all I know is that they are tuff and so are gar because I shot a good size shornose gar last week and left it in the back of my truck for over 2 hours in the sun and he was still flopping so I threw him in my pond thinking he wouldnt live that much longer because he was very dried out. But I seen him swimming at the surface today with a school of bluegill, was thinking about shooting him again but decided to let him be since he couldnt do that much harm.
