Good summary Maks.
I'll add that IL has been invaded by both species of aisian carp, the Silver and Bighead. They came up the Miss adn into the Illinois River, and are currently stopped at a dam about 2/3rds of the way up the state. We also have Spotted gar here, that can sometimes be mistaken for Shortnose. |
RE: What to fish For
seems that the asian carp are everywhere these days. also another tip. the best time to bowfish is may, gar and carp seem to be always crusing the shallows throughout the whole day. and you might want to pick up some polarized glasses and a small bat or something to knock the fish out.

RE: What to fish For
During the hottest part of summer the asians come up to the surface to sun. Keep the sun at your back and you can float right up on them.
