Rest for a Kingfisher recurve
 

I just bought a Kingfisher recurve from Cabelas. I know that traditionally you are not supposed to shoot a V-type arrow rest with a recurve, but I have an extra NAP quicktune arrow rest laying around. Can I use this on the Kingfisher, or should I buy a roller rest?

I personally would just shoot off the shelf. Keep it simple and foolproof.

If the riser is cut-out like a compound's, what about the Dream-rest?



One that I have is the Fish Hook, by Muzzy. It's inexpensive, tough, and works with different risers.

I'm a recurve shooter and I always shoot "off the shelf" when possible. I know some of the metal riser bows need a rest. And though I've never used one myself, I would recomend F&D's dream rest or AMS's wave rest. Both rests are made for bowfishing by people with LOTS of bowfishing experience. (and they have both done a bunch to support our club)

I just made a plumber's putty rest last night for my Shakespeare recurve. I couldn't wait to try it so before heading to work this morning I shot it a few times. Right away I was very pleased with my accuracy. I'm looking forward to trying it some more. I was shooting off some rabbit hair right on the shelf with my other recurve and that worked pretty good, however it was not as easy to swing around the bow since I'm used to a whisker biscuit on my compound. I'm hoping the plumber's putty will fix that. Mainly for me it's being confident with my setup and then use it without constantly changing things.
