Can a right handed retriever be converted?

I am thinking down the road here, as I have a drum reel and have yet to stick my first fish.

I have a friend that picked up a retriever reel very cheap as in "free". He offered to give it to me, but it is for a right hander, and I am a lefty.

Is there anyway to convert them?

CS

I'll go look at the retrievers sometime tonight and see just what would have to be changed.

(I'm a left-handed shooter)

Good question. Not sure.
The on-line catalogsmake you choose ahand, but that doesn't mean it can't be reversed.

I'd get it anyway.
You could always trade, give it to somebody, or donate it as a prize. ;)

I'd take it if it's free, but I don't believe they can be converted. Those are selling for $50.00-$60.00 depending on where you shop. Take advantage of that one! You can never have too much equipment!

By any chance, do you know if it's a slotted-retriever, or not? I've been wanting a slotted-one for a while. If it is, and it's in good shape, I'd trade you (I have 2 Retrievers and 2 spincasts).

Thanks for the info. He is a good friend of mine, so if I can't make it work I will just tell him to sell it out there. (PA).

I looked at one for a RH in the store yesterday, I am suprised they can't make em to fit L or R, or at least make a plate for em so they can be converted. That's what I get for being a lefty I guess!

What do you want Grizz ? :D
The retrievers are already lightweight, have zero drag, no bale-release button to push, last nearly forever, are easily repairable if something does go wrong, require no extra mounting hardware, and cost just a few dollars more than a spincast with a reel seat.

AMS has a good thing going here. You'll find out how good just as soon as you lay your hands on one. :)

Hee hee :D

They're out there, but with the way they last, adn the way people seem to hang on to those things, I don't have high hopes for you finding a used one. I hope you do, just not holding my breath. :)
