Im new at this and i already have a boat and the bow. What do you guys recomend for a good setup? Also i need to figure out how to rig my boat up with some lights without spending alot of money on all this what do you guys recommend?

RE: Lights
Well, all depends on how much money you want to spend and how much room you have? Typically, most of us use a generator to power the lights, for we run all night long. One cheap way of bowfishing at night is to use couple of batteries and spot light, one spots as other shoots then switch.

RE: Lights
I got them figured out by day. The sun is the cheapest light.

RE: Lights
yep you are right about that.
but i use 6 300 watt halogens and a 3000 watt genny. |
RE: Lights
I have a small 14' jon boat and do not have room for a genny as all so I had to go the 12 volt way. I went to Walmart and bought 3 sets of 2-12 volt lights. I then mounted them on some small brackets that I already had. You have to use 12gauge braded wire to tie them together, and make sure that you have a fuse in somewhere. Then I have two deep cycle battries tied together in parallel. That is positive to positive and so on. I get just over 4 hours of solid running. It gives you enough light, but you do have 6 spots. Not a full flood like with halegen lights. It gets the job done, and cheap, I have less than $100 not counting the batteries. Since then I have found out that golf cart batteries are the best if you can find any.
