I Know this is the wrong forum for this b/c i caught him with rod and reel but I caught a Northern Pike in Lake HartwellGa on Sunday. Arent pike northern fish?
I was catfishing and this thing just carried my bait away. I thought I snagged on something and just pulled him right in. He jumped the hook on shore and tried to jump back in the water but a couple well placed kicks sent him about 10 feet up shore. So im confused, can anyone shed some light on this for me?

I wish I had my bow with me that day I saw 3 carp within shooting distance. but theres always next time.:D

thats a pickerel my dad and uncles have caught them in hartwell and the santee lakes . you said u where on hartwell sun i was there sat nite .you have any luck ?

Yea I called fish and game and they said its a chain Pickeral. I had never even heard of one of those untill today. They said its a common mistake to make. wonder if I should get it mounted? and SCM my friend caught2 bream and I caught the pickeral and that was it how about you?

we caught 12 crappie up to 2lbs and about 15 small hybrids weighin about a pound or so threw them back kept the crappie .we where under the liberty hwy bridge from 8 sat nite till 230 sun mornin my gf got cold .cant wait to go back we might be headin to russel this weekend not sure will let u know .

i sure will man .if i go it will be with my father in law i think he fishes near or around i think allen creek i dont know much about russel only been once and fell in love .but i will keep u posted .

I wonder if they let you bowfish on Russel? I heard they have like 60lb grass carp swimming up there but I think theres a catch and release policy.
