Will my setup work for bow fishing
 

Will my setup work for bow fishing? It is in my sinature. I know I will need new arrows and a reel. What do you guys think?

Will it work? If your rest can hold up a fiberglass arrow, it should work fine.

IMHO, It's a bit on the 'nice' side for bowfishing... (bowfishing tends to be rough on shooting equipment) and you really don't need sights, drop away rests and a release for bowfishing.


(All you really need is something that will shoot an arrow and some way to get your arrow back. ;))

Good luck... and be careful.. bowfishing is addictive.

Do you mind if it gets muddy, bloody, and slimey? 47# is heavy enough poundage, but get rid of all the gizmos. Either shoot off the shelf, or get a bowfishing rest. No sights - they get in the way. Get no-gluvs instead of a release. Get a very good job so you can buy a boat, a bigger boat, a generator, a bigger boat, a bowfishing bow, etc.

That about sums it up. You can fish with most bows, but simpler is better, and having minimal accessories to snag your line is even better.
