Cleaning after each Shot

Hey,
I've only shot my new Kight Disc 50 about 20 shots. And I'm new to the in-lines.But I've been shooting a Hawken for over 10 years, afew times each year.
Now I'm planning to shot alot more now, with my in-line.
I read on a site somewhere,to spray a light mist of 70%Alchol on a patch a run this down the barrle.
I've tried this and it seems to work real well.
Then I run maybe two clean patches down and the barrel is super clean.
When I was using water on the patch,I would fire a couple of small primers to dry the barrel.
But with the Alchol I clean then load and shot, with no problems.
Have any of ya'll tried this,or has a better cleaner than Alchol?

If you're shooting a 209 primer then you can make a mixture of 50/50 91% isopropyl alcohol and car windshield washer fluid. In my #11 percussion cap sidelocks I use straight alcohol. You can also use Windex, and there are countless store brand cleaners to swab with but I have never had better luck with them then the home made solutions.

The nice thing about isopropyl alcohol is not only does it pull the fowling but it drys itself and can even burn if necessary. Its good that your running a couple of dry patches afterward. Sounds like your good to go....

I use Windex/alcohol mix in a misty spray bottle. I swab with both sides of the patch... only spraying the first side. Usually one dry patch (both sides) is all I use afterwards. The whole idea is not to remove all the fouling.. just most of it which one patch does after every 2nd shot using 777. No need to fire any primers doing this as long as you do not overly saturate the wet patch.

I use this mixture Cayugad recommends - it's fantastic. Thanks again, I would have never thought of mixing those two (cheap) liquids together to clean my rifle.

I used to be fond of Cayugad's mix with the car solution until I found out that the Windex-mix will dry the bore faster using the same amount of spray... thus the need for only both sides of one dry patch.

It really only boils down to how clean you want you bore for the next shot. Using a 2nd dry patch will clean the bore a little more than only one. I just prefer a little dirtier bore for my next two shots. No big deal!

Roger I clean the same way you do. I have done it this way for over 30 years, in all kinds of ML's and It works for me.
