T/C System #1 rifle

Does anyone know the twist that these rifles came with? I know they had a 26" barrel and the one I am looking at is #11 ignition none of which bothers me, but I would like to know the twist. This is a .50 caliber rifle. It is also my understanding that there are 12 ga barrels that can fit on this rifle... is this correct?

cayugad: My 1999, T/C catalog, # 26, lists the "System One" at 1 in 38" twist rate for the .50, and .54 calibers. Yes there is a 12 guage barrel available, as well as a .32, and .58 caliber. Removable breach plug, and 150 grain capable. You can get a stricker conversion kit, so you can use musket caps, 209 primers, or #11 caps. It is T/C part # 7778. I put this same kit in my T/C Firehawk.

thanks for the information... I have a chance to purchase one rather reasonable and it is new in the box still. I just wanted to know more about it as the person selling it knew nothing about it.

Good luck Cayugad sounds like a nice rifle wish I had one for the "kids".

Is it the walnut and stainless one? That was a pretty rifle.

Can I dare ask how much it set you back?

The fellow that owns it and I are still dickering over the final price. He is under the impression that since it is new in the box it is worth as much as it was when they were the the number one rifle to own. I am sure I will get him down to a reasonable price. He is asking $245.00 and I told him I can get them cheaper on the auction sites....

I am sure he will give in.... if not then I will buy one off the auction or something else to make me smile...:D

cayugad: I seen N.O.S. t/c # 1 barrel going for $100.00 on e bay and other auction sites.
cayugad: was at bass pro the other day, need another rifle like a hole in the head, but just could not pass on this deal $170.00 for a H@R handi in 30-06 ,going to part with my BNZ Mauser 8x57 when I get back up north.I like the Handi single shot ,light 22 inch barrel should be a great woods gun if I decide to use a centerfire rifle .I seem to favor the lighter rifle and m/l as we grow older

I found a System One for a much better price then what this local fellow wants... It is not the stainless steel and has a walnut stock. Lonewolf.. those 12 ga barrels for the System One fits all system one stocks don't they?
