Barnes Bullets

Been using the Barnes 195 gr,packed in the 25 count box,
had to get some more but all they had was the blister pack
of 10.Got to reading the back of the package and it gives the fps of using pyrodex powder or pellets.the pellets list fps as follows:
90 grs.pellets 1978fps
120grs.pellets 2190fps
100 grs.--Pellets --- 2420fps.
Sent an e-mail to Barnes and they wrote back that these fps were correct.Been shooting for many years and this is the first time that
less powder was faster,in a muzzle loader.
Will check it out next time I get to go to range with my chrony.
Anyone else have one of these blister packs that has the same on the back???

RE: Barnes Bullets

I just switched over to Barnes bullets in 325 grains for my TC Thunderhawk. They are accurate and I doubt there is any better killer in muzzleloading bullets! Excellent!

I was pretty sure that the chart was meaning 150 gr pelets
just wanted to put it on here because I don't believe the fellow even checked out the package at Barnes to see if it had the wrong specs on it for the pellets.
I have been using the 195 bullet in my Encore 50 cal and you an see what groups I get with it by checking the link.I am very impressed with the groups.Shot 6 (3-shot) groups in a row with the 195 and 100 grs of pyrodex select.I haven't checked the fps yet but will soon because I want to up the charge some if I can get the same groups by doing so.

RE: Barnes Bullets

That's neat Dan, I just switched to Barnes (.54 cal, 325 grains) and I am very happy with them. I can shoot a clover leaf at 50 yards. Went on a special deer hunt this past weekend. Shot a small deer almost face on, the bullet went in at the shoulder, came out behind the rib cage. The deer didn't even take one step just fell over. I'm sticking with Barnes..
