T/C omega muzzleloaders.

anyone own one?
are they worth it over the encores?
are they faster to reload?

Worth what over the Encores? They are considerably cheaper from what I've seen. I don't have one "yet" but have one on order from D&R (now, to see if they actually have stock). The only owners I've heard from (at Hunt America) have nothing but praise for the rifles. One major improvement over the Encore (of possibly many) would seem to be the trigger, with most reporting a very clean, crisp 3.5 pound pull.

I have one,Shoots like a champ,But like all muzzys you have to keep it clean.I found out It is best to clean it after every 2 shots or it gets tough to load. But I found most our that way.All I do is run the brush down then a little cleaning solution with a rag and its ready.Maybe 2 minutes. After the days use I just take the plug out and it takes 10 minutes to get it spotless. The plug in the back of the breech is easy to take out. But the tool they give you to use is awkward.I just use a small speed wrench ans socket. It shoots 2 inch patterns. Here is a Pic of mine>>

cardeer..

i saw your pic before but i guess i did not look at it closer. i have a old C.V.A firebolt. which i won from my father on who would become president. he picked gore i picked bush. LOL!
it has come down to it that when he owned it he would clean it about once after hunting season and then not til the end og the next.
so i am in the hunt to find another one to replace the C.V.A. i am looking into the omega muzzleloaders in 50cal. for muzzle hunting in MA.
thank you all for your help.

i played with one at a shop last week. i thought the action felt cheap and weak. trigger and trigger guard felt like plastic. the hammer seems a little weird and the hammer fall was odd. it seems to me like the trigger guard might wear out after repeated openings/closing of the action. after all i have been reading about these guns, it didn't impress me once i had my hands on it. i wnet down the road and bought a knight.

cardeer, what scope base is that? Seems to fit the rifle very well. Nice pictures and a nice looking outfit but I would take that rear sight off and move that scope forward. You must be having to position your head pretty far back on that stock.

Underclocked, I dont now what the mount is.It was on the gun when the secret person gave it to me. And no I dont have to postion my head back on the stock.I can prove that from the cut and black and blue nose. First time in years I let a scope nail me.

Well, can you ask? :)

Maybe that secret person had it in for you mounting that scope as they did? Knock on wood, I've never had one get closer than brushing my eyebrow, and that skeered me. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
