RE: PRB's
One in 70...because my custom .54 has a one in 72...and it shoots better than I can!!! Most custom barrels are one in 66 for .45 and .50 and one in 72 for .54...The slower twist will allow you to shoot higher powder charges without the ball/patch stripping the groves...Good Luck
PS...I'm assuming you are getting for hunting loads (80-120 grs) in a .54..
but mine also does well with as little as 50grs ff...

I have a Green Mountain with the 1-70 twist in .58 caliber and that rifle will really shoot. The thing you will discover with the slow twist and the GMB is you can load a rather stiff charge if you like and the rifle will still shoot perfect. I load 100-110 grains of FFg in mine with a patched roundball and it will shoot excellent groups even out to 100 yards...
Very few animals can take a patched roundball pushed hard. The ball flattens if it hits bone making an even bigger wound. The other thing is you are already starting with a 9/16th hole. Hit bone on a deer and it only gets bigger......
