Need info on T/C Firehawk
 

Does anybody have any info, good or bad, on the discontinued T/C Firehawk? I know it is an inline but I can't find anything about it on the net due to it being discontinued some time ago.

The Firehawk is a good rifle. It was dropped when the Black Diamond and other models with removeable breech plugs came along. Everyone jumped on the "clean through the rear" bandwagon and the Firehawk and Thunderhawk were both discontinued.

Are you thinking of buying a used one? Let me just point out that Cabelas has brand new Black Diamonds on sale for $179 in their Winter sale catalog. I would not be willing to pay over $100 for an older rifle when I could get a new one for that price. It's hard to tell how well a ML rifle has been maintained. Especially when you can't take out the breech plug for a good look at the bore.

Thanks for the info Steve. The Firehawk I was looking at is new in the box with all papers but they want $149.00 for it. I took your advice and checked out Cabelas and I do think the Black Diamond is the way to go. It comes with all three nipple types and I do have some excess #11's & muskets that I need to use up. Plus the breechplug comes out like you said that will make cleaning easier & faster.
