Blackpowder shotgunners.........

Does anyone shoot the Knight TK2000 shotgun? If so, what are your load measurements? I shoot 2oz. of #5's, with 100 grains of 777 fffg. Thanks for your response!!!

What kind of pattern and range do you get out of that Knight? I shoot a .62 caliber smoothbore which is 20 gauge where your shooting a 12 I suspect. My load is a little smaller and my range is only 30 yards max for turkey sized critters.

cayugad, I saw your post on the Bushnell Community post on powder and shot equivalents. I checked this out with my powder measurer, and I don't believe this is not enough shot. Ex: 100 grains powder=1 3/8 oz. of shot. I am shooting the Knight plastic shot cups, which hold over 2 ounces of shot. I tried 2 oz. of #5's, with 100 grains of 777 fffg. It throws a pretty decent pattern out to 40 yards. Knight does not give any specific loads to use, so I thought i would get other shotgunners opions. Let me know if you come up with anything, Thanks........

I've looked at that shotgun you have with turkey hunting in mind... I am going to look for one on auction sites, but in the mean time I am determined to get one with the .62 caliber.

I almost connected last year, I had two nice gobblers coming in to the decoys and for a reason I have still not figured out, they suddenly turned and walked (not ran off in panic) the exact way they came in. Had they came in even another 30 yards I might have tested my turkey load....

I guess that's what I like about turkey hunting... there are so many things that can go wrong but when you connect it seems like "the world is finally right for that moment."
