Muzzleloader info needed

I am new to black powder hunting. I was thinking of getting the Knight disc extreme. What do you all think about this gun. And also tell me what I need to know about black powder guns. Thanks for all info.

Knight disc extreme.. is one of the most accurate rifles made by Knight from talking to people and reading posts on the rifle. I own a Knight Wolverine II which is not in the same class as the Knight disc extreme, but in an of itself is a great shooting rifle.

The Knight disc extreme has a Green Mountain Barrel, and adjustable timney trigger. I personally think your selection of that model would be all the muzzleloader you would ever need. Get one in a .50 caliber and you're all set. If I remember right, they are guaranteed to shoot a 2" or 3" group right out of the box. Not bad shooting by any standards for a rifle at 100 yards.

You never mentioned the price you're paying for that Knight rifle you're interested in. The Disc Extreme is a fine gun... but when you're that close money-wise... go for the gusto. Natchez has the improved Disc Elite for $389 ... $339 after rebate that ends today. They also have the Wolverine 209 with 26" barrel for $139 (blued 45). The Wolverine deal is a ML Best Buy right now along with some Cabelas that are still stocking the T/C Black Diamond XR for around $179 on sale. That's #2 Best Buy right now.

I know of a couple of Disc Extreme owners who now prefer to start their muzzleoading seasons with the T/C Omega. The Omega is the best "pound-per-pound/dollar-per-dollar" ML made today.... particularly the stainess/laminated wood version

I own both an Extreme and an Omega. Both are very good rifles. I've got the 50 cal Stainless/Thumbhole versions of both. In my Opinion you can't go wrong by getting either. Unless you can use a scope during the muzzleloader season, skip the Elite. If you can use a scope with magnification legally and the Elite fits you well buy it instead. The Elite is the better Disc rifle. Most shoot sub MOA. I've never heard a bad thing about em.
