buffalo ballets

tonite i went to walmart to see if they marked their stuff down yet...sure enough they did....i have a TC hawken flinter 50cal....1:48 twist...shoots rd balls great....power belts ok but hard to load...and 350 maxi hunters were doing alright..but i had to max my sights out to get them to hit high enough...just barely making it.....and i didnt like that....well they had 50rd boxes of buffalo ball-ets for 3 bucks...couldnt beat that with a stick...so i bought a box of 245gr hollow base rd nose ball-ets and a box of 270gr HP hollow base maxi ball-ets....should they shoot good in my rifle?? what powder charge for deer hunting would you say to start at for a good hunting load?? how will they perform in a deer?? i will probably hunt with the hollow points...they would do more damage right?? anyone actually hit a deer with either and able to give me first hand info??? thanx alot....i got one site in session and the late season starts teh day after Xmas.....cant wait.....thanx alot guys......

I shoot them out of my T/C .50 caliber Hawkins Flintlock with 75 grains of Goex FFFg and the accuracy with the 245 grain ball-et is exceptional. I have not had a chance to see if a deer would test fire one yet....:D

I have been wanting to try those. Do you put lube on them or use them right out of the box? Any lead fouling problems?

livbucks.. they come pre lubed. With a very sticky lube I might add. They can be loaded without a short starter. You can actually feel them set in the powder charge when you seat them. They do not seem to come off the charge the few times I have checked them. They are as accurate as a roundball in my T/C Hawkins Flintlock.. and they are a little heavier for better down range slap...

So far I have noticed no leading, but I do bore brush the barrel everytime I shoot with a quality solvent....
