check out this little blackpowder rimfire shooter,it belongs to a guy i work with its been in his family since it was bought new in 1865.

its made by crowls & son mass. 1865 ,32 cal. black powder rim fire. You push the little button on the bottom and the barrel swings to the side.

I'd say it was probably chambered for the the .32 short, original load had an 80gr. bullet with 9grs. of blackpowder. If it was chambered for the .32 long, it had a 90gr. bullet with 12-13grs. of blackpowder. :D Don't sound like much, but if the chips were down and that's all I had in my pocket, I'd gladly take it. Guess that .32 short rimfire was a fairly popular round in it's day. Book says it was a pretty good small game round out to about 50yds., well, that would be in the rifles chambered for it.
