Recommendations on 1X scope

Hello,

I'm looking for any Recommendations on 1X scopes you may have used. This will be for a T/C Omega .50 muzzleloader. In WI we cannot use above a 1 power scope. If you have used one of these and have an opinion either way please let me know.

My scope is a Simmons ProHunter® Shotgun Scope 1x32(Truplex). Simmons is dicontinuing this scope, so they are going for sale prices on the internet.

Got mine thru cabelas, it was on clearance for $64. I then found 2 more on ebay for $25 a piece!![:o]

It works good. When ya get it mounted, you can see the barrel while looking thru the scope all the time. The max I could sight it in for was 70 yards, and that is streching the limits! Real good at 50 yards or less!;)

Another thing is that the scope is very short, so you will want to mount it on a rail, so you can move the scope back as far as ya can. As to get proper eye relief.

But the Omega should mount just fine on the Weaver 410 Omega rail mount.

The newer red dot scopes also need a rail IMO.

I hope this helps.

In His Service,

Lane

I have a Bushnell Trophy Red dot scope on my Omega and I really like it. It has a dial to select 4 different reticles. You have a fine dot, a big dot, a cross hair, and a circle with a dot in the middle. Then there is a dial to select the brightness for the red dot also. I used this for both gun season and muzzleloader season and shot 2 deer so far with it.

I tried that one last year. It was accurate, but Bushnell has a problem with the dot. It is not really a round dot it is shaped oblong. Bushnell replaced it with a holosight, which is what I've been using.

Look at Mueller scope,2x7 with red dot,not heavy the view was great for me.$150 or less,Gander has them,it's new w/lifetime warranty.I would also reccomend at least a 1x cause in the evening or early light, you will need the mag. to clearly see your deer.
