CVA Optima Loads
 

My son has been shooting an optima for about 2-3 months now and would like some advice from other optima users.
What are some good loads?
So far our accuracy has varied with powerbelts?

Powerbelts don't do too well out of mine either - others have had better success. Mine loves the T/C shockwaves in 250 and 300 grain with 90g T7. Out of a clean barrel, I can get 2.5" at 100 yds. I use the powerbelts in 295g for a second shot due to the ease of loading -- but the impact point is 4"left and 2" low at 50 yds compared to the shockwaves. The hornandy sst are the same bullet, but with a different sabot - try them with 2 pellets of either T7 or Pyrodex. Good luck!
