T/C exp and Hornady exp question

I know they are the same. I've used the T/C's for sighting in, and bought some Hornady's on sale. I was comparing them, and the sabot is different. The T/C is black, and the Hornady is green and about a quarter of an inch shorter.

Do you think the Hornady's will shoot any different?

Yes IMHO I think you have a GREAT chance of a different POI. Anytime you change bullet characteristics you change the physics of how the bullet reacts with its enviroment. So a shorter bullet has a great chance of changing its POI.

Another thing you might find is that the Hornady Sabots are thicker and you will have a difficult time getting them down the barrel.

Look at the bootom of the sabot if they have a stair-stepped they are probably MMP sabots. If they have a smooth cup they are probably Harvester and thinner..

TC usually uses a thinner sabot.

It's my understanding that black sabots are used with .45 caliber bullets, ie. .451 or .452 diameter handgun bullets; and green sabots are used with .44 caliber bullets, ie. .429 diameter handgun bullets.

I personally prefer 260 grain .451 Nosler-Partition HG in a black sabot over 80 grains of 777, excellent accuracy and performance.

Bugs11 is correct................

the black sabots are for .45cal bullets and the green ones are .44cal bullets. The two WILL shoot a little differently - I know my Knight prefers .45s over .44s.
