scope mounting options
I will be adding a scope to my Knight riffle soon.
Should I leave the open sights on and mount the scope with the 1 in raised mounts? Or mount the scope as close as possable to the gun using regular scope mounts and take the open sights off? How often do you get to use the open sights with a scoped blackpowder rifle anyway? |
RE: scope mounting options
I personally don't like the raised rings. I have regular rings on my Omega, and I am drilling the bullseye every shot @ 100

RE: scope mounting options
The rule of thumb is stay as close to the barrel as possible. If you get medium rings some times you do not even have to remove the sights, the scope will fit right behind it.....
A lot will depend on what scope you pick and what mounts you choose. |
RE: scope mounting options
c-gad is right... depending upon your scope choice, one of mine fits behind the sights... one over... the other, will see when it get's in...
