Traditions Tracker 209
 

Has anybody tried the Traditions Tracker 209. Scheels has them for 99.00. It has a blued barrel and synthetic stock. The book claims its capable of 150 grain loads. I was wondering if anybody here has shot one and wondering how it shoots. Thanks a lot.

My former 50-cal shot real well after I replaced the high junk front sight & added 1-1/2 lbs to the stock weight to lessen the recoil. I was shooting 3" groups at 100 yards using 100 grains 777 with a Precision Silver Lightning 275 grain sabot/bullet. It was relatively easy to clean & very little blowback from the primer area. I later regretted selling it even though the new owner paid me $40 more than I had invested into it.

Thats what I have and it shoots great.I use pyrodex pellets, 2 50 gr pyrodex pellets and hornady 250gr 44cal bullets in sabots.At $150 or under this gun is a great value.But not as easy to clean as a break open style muzzleloader.On the other hand I can usually shoot 15 to 20 shots between swabbings.

Thanks a lot for the reply. I was looking at them at Scheels all Sports the other day. They have them on sale for 99.00. It looked like a good deal for a second rifle. I may have to try one. I shoot the 300 grain Hornady XTP with the TC mag sabots in my TC woods rifle. I can put five shots pretty much in the middle of a paper plate at 100 yards. I am useing the 300 grain because I had several boxes of them when I got my muzzle loader and they worked so well I just stayed with them. Thanks again.

I need to replace the cheapo front sites on my 209. What are some recommendations?

Also, Triple Se7en, how did you add weight to the stock. Sounds interesting, although I carry my rifle most of the time, and the light weight is a plus.

I doubt that either one will answer you . They haven't been on here for three years . Maybe somebody else will answer . Did you realize it's a 9 year old post?

I hated to point that out to him also. But he might try Tru Glow sights. They make a lot of high quality sights for most muzzleloaders. Also if he wants all metal sights I would look on line at places like Brownells.
