I need some suggestions for ammo and loads for my .50 encore. i can't get any consistency from the powerbelts i've tried.

Buy T/C-packaged sabot/bullets in 240-250 grain. Try 80-120 grains in 10-grain increments. When shot groups start spreading, backup 5-10 grains.

My dad has the 50cal barrel and gets sub-inch groups with the T/C Mag Express sabots in 250gr pushed by 110gr of loose triple-7. I also shoot those bullets in my 45cal barrel and get good groups as well.

To be consistent with a muzzleloader you have to load consistently. Same routine everytime. I patch down and back one time with TC prelubed cleaning patches between shots to help make consistent pressure and it simulates a hunting bore after a fouling shot. Then I've had good luck with 300gr 44 cal jacketed pistol bullets with the MMP black high pressure sabot. I use two 777 pellets and a very slight film of bore butter on the sabot works very well for me. I group about 2" at 100 yards with a scope. I call that shooting error on my part as I'm just a fair shot
