Winchester Apex
Just picked up the new Apex from Harry's Army Navy $260 for camo blued not a bad price. Has any one shot this gun yet? I was Originally looking at the Omega or the Revolution. Didnt apear to me that the quality of the Winchester was any less so I figured I would save $200. Whats with the small trigger guard on the Omega? Did'nt like that at all but the gun itself seemed to be very well made. I figure that I'll try it out next week wth pyrodex pellets and powerbelts.

Looks are deceiving! I agree that the Apex has a nicer synthetic stock than the Omega. However, the Omega has a laminated wood stock that's superior to the Apex synthetic stock. Your biggest comparison surprise is when you read the Apex's powder & bullet grain restrictions in your new owner's manual or try to compare warranties with the Omega (or) compare resale value at auction sites. What you have is an average break-action ML. You paid an average price. You can expect average results. Let's hope you have the best one BPI industries ever built & it turns out to be a terrific shooter. Good luck with your new rifle. |
