I don't have the Omega but I have a Black Diamond XR and shoot the Shockwaves all the time. I like the 250 grain Shockwaves the best. I also find that if I push them over 120 grains of loose powder, accuracy got to pot. I have shot them out to 200 yards on the range only. I was hitting a 6" circle that although considered acceptable, it made me think that I would never shoot that far at any creature...:)

As you and your friend have found, out to 100 yards these projectiles are excellent for accuracy. I do not have a stainless barrel, and loading any T/C projectile I find excellent.

My stainless Omega has no such problems. Out to 200 yds the groups are good with only drop to contend with on calm days.

Dr Kill & Buddy

Ya'll need to try a different powder and/or powder charge. If ya' uzin' pellets, switch to loose powder. Also try to keep the bore a little fouled with no yucky Bore Butter or Wonderless Lube in it. If that don't work, try another bullet. Buy ones with T/C Bullet packaging like T/C Mag Sabots, Cheapshots, Shockwaves, PTXs, Break-Aways... etc. Those are the bullets T/C tests their rifles with. In my Omega, I use Hunterman's 250 grain 45/50 Spire Points. With 105 grains 777 FFF loose, they're around 3-4" low at 200 yards. I hit coffee cans with em' all the time.

HUNTERMAN BOOLETS WEBSITE

Order 25 of those in 250 grain & 25 Round Nose in 275 grain. Both are optimum grain sizes for the Omega... other sizes being 300, 260 & 240 with alot of bullet manufacturers. Should cost you $20 delivered to your door. For another $5, buy a 50-pk of Harvester Black Sabots 45/50s for them. Now you're good to go... have fun & tell Mark Hunterman that "Damus" sent ya' there".

Triple Se7en, I have looked at his bullets before and they look nice. I would bet that they would also work real well in my Black Diamond XR since they have almost the same barrel. Perhaps I will order some myself and give them a try.

I have to admit that I have never shot a sabot out of my Omega. I do own a stainless Omega and once tried to load the sabots that come with the rifle. I literally could not push the sabot down the barrel. I got it about an inch, but is was so hard to push it I would have been afraid to shoot it, so I took out the breech and pushed it back out the front. Don't know if this had anything to do with being stainless. This was in a fouled barrel, but after a spit patch had been run through the barrel. I have not used bore butter in this barrel.

As far as loading bullets goes, that may be true for sabots, but I only shoot powerbelts, which are extremely easy to load. Had to work a little to get an accurate load, but when I found the rifles sweet spot, it shoots very well out to 100 yards which is my max distance for game.

Suggest going to HEAVIER bullets for longer ranges. Arc doesn't matter much if you know where the bullet is going to land. ;)

I love my T/C Omega. It's stainless and camo, 50 cal. I shoot two 777 pellets with Powerbelt bullets and can have three shots touching at 50yds (without optics). At 100yrds, I've been able to get groups slightly over 1.5" (again w/o optics, cuz in GA we can't use 'em). I did install a peep instead of the rear sight that was standard. It's an Army thing, I think...

I have not tried sabots. I have a bunch of 'em, tho, and may the next time I go to the range.

I just got a blued Omega. This is the first group I fired with it. 120 grains of FFG and TC Maxi balls. That's all I had on hand to try in it. I have to pickup some sabots and maybe some of those pellets and see if I can tighten that group up a little
