Omega/peep/new front sight
 

Well, I have finally gotten my new front fiberoptic sight for my T/C Omega. It simply screws on with the original screw and is aprox. 60% as tall as the original. It should work great! Will try and shoot it next weekend to make sure, but it should be low enough to allow for the low rear Williams peep.

The best part is that T/C sent it to me free! I am going to pay for them to send me some replacement fiberoptic rods, but the sight itself is all steel, so it should hold up well.

Hope this helps some others with the same problem of not being able to raise the rear peep high enough.

txhunter58 .... I agree with you. The customer service and support of Thompson Center Arms is one thing we never consider when looking at the purchase price of the rifle but it is a definate factor.

I broke the breech plug wrench on my Thompson Center Black Diamond XR trying to free a stuck plug. I wrote Thompson Center a letter to see if I was doing something wrong reference how I was greasing the plug and setting the rifle up prior to shooting. Their responce was a nice letter back, along with some anti seize, directions on how to grease the plug, some information on favorite loads for my rifle, and a new deluxe breech plug wrench with a note explaining how sorry they were that something like this happened in the first place. That to me is customer service. No arguements on who's fault the wrench broke, just fix the problem and let me get on enjoying the rifle. By the way their load was right on the money....:D

Finally got a chance to go out and try my new lower front sight today. Only got to shoot at 100 yards but the results were great. I was using the rear Williams peep with the new lower front sight that T/C had sent me free. First 3 shots were about a 4 inch group about 4 inches high! Guess the new sight is a success! Lowered the rear peep and my next group was about 3 inches about 1 inch high. Since my self imposed limit on range for this setup is 100 yards, I would call that very good.

Good to hear it worked,I contacted Thompson last week and they are sending me a shorter front sight also.Thanks for the update txhunter 58;)
