Benhuntin, I purchased a TK2000 muzzleloader a couple of years ago. One of the first things you should do is get all the right accessories for your smokepole. You'll need 209 primers, wads, shot, shot measure, powder and powder measure. I recommend the knight wads, and shot. There is three available shot sizes. It's your preference. I shoot #5 shot. I would also recommend that you use Triple seven powder. It's cleaner, and it's all I ever shoot!! I recommend the 3f. It burns faster. I shoot 2oz. of #5 shot with 100grains of triple F fffg. Well, good luck, and let me know how it goes.

PS: Be sure to read your Instruction manual carefully!!

I have a CVA 12ga. double.
I use 1 7/8 oz. #6 shot pushed by 120 grains of black powder.

the best thing is to try different shot and powder to work up a good load.

the fun of shooting B/P is working up the loads and shooting different ones till you get what you want.

I have a TK2000 its a great muzzleloader shotgun. The only advice I can give you is KEEP IT CLEAN. I have used 100 Gr Pyrodex with a full wad of #4and #6 shot mix. it worked very well for me. I sent it back to Knight for a recamo job, the camo finish blistered. Knight had it back to me in about 2 weeks it looks great can't wait to get it out in the turkey woods this spring. I got a nice Tom ( 20 Lbs, 9" beard and about 3/4" spars) last year at about 45 yards with the load I mentioned.
