Muzzleloader Cleaning Rod

Hi all,

I'm trying to decide on which cleaning rod I should get. I have narrowed my choices down to dewey, bore stix, and mamba. These are all 1 piece coated rods with ball bearing handles. Does anybody have any experience with them? I need one for a 45cal and one for a 50 cal. I think I use need to buy one for both though. Also does anyone know where I can also get a bore guide for those calibers? What jags do you recommend, parker hale, pointed, ect.? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Nate

Nate, I have several Dewey Rods that have lasted for years. Go to http://deweyrods.com/ and I think you will find just what you need including the bore guides.

Thanks for the reply underclocked. I was leaning toward dewey and you just helped me make my decision a little easier. :) Thanks again.

Hi Nate!

I own 3 Dewey rods and when I got a muzzleloader, I just ordered a black powder adaptor from Dewey for the .27 and up cal. Dewey rod. It lets you convert a standard rod into a black powder rod since the accessory threads on the two are different. I've had my Dewey rods for about 10 years or so and they are the best out there IMO. Good luck!
