RE: T/C Renegade Question

No. Do not remove the breech plug. Just give it a water bath and some solvent patches and it will be fine. You can not remove the breech for cleaning or any other purpose... That is a good rifle there....

RE: T/C Renegade Question

Not Mine[:'(] As I once posted here before, When I was a teenager, about 13 years ago, I broke a cleaning brush off right down at the breach end. I had just began cleaning it, and I could not free the brush, so I left it there[X(]. I got the brush out a year ago, but I have no way of determining the condition of the barrel. My guess is it is unsafe, so I'm not shooting it, but I would like to know for sure before buying a replacement.

RE: T/C Renegade Question

If your sure the bore is empty, then get a bore light and drop down it. You can get one for about $5.00. Then you will be able to see if the barrel is all pitted and rusted. If it is, then get some fine grit valve grinding compound at your local auto store and lap the barrel. It might save the barrel. If it does not, then you are only out a little money and some work.

Thanks a MILLION cayugad!!! I never thought of that, but I read an article in lapping barrels a while ago, and it sounds like a good idea. I didn't know about bore lights either. If it works, I will owe you one!:):):)

RE: T/C Renegade Question

I have a TC Hawken - and you CAN remove the breach plug - I believe it is the same design as a renagade. A friend of mine did it - had a stuck minne ball. He had to chuck the breach end in a vice and us a farily large pipe wrench - it went back toghether fine - and shot fine - just was alot of work. I would do so before getting rid of the gun. Back to me owning a TC Hawken - they used to sell a wrench to take them apart - you may want to call TC - would probably cause alot less damage then the vice and pipe wrench method. Good Luck
