Shotgun primers

I'm thinking of switching to shotgun primers instead of caps. I don't get a lot of misfires but I've been told that the shotgun primers virtually eliminate them. I assume I have to get a different nipple? I have a CVA Apollo in-line.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

You should check with CVA to see if your rifle has a 209 primer adapter available. You still need to properly maintain your firearm but misfires should be reduced or eliminated all together.

RE: Shotgun primers

The rifle I just purchased is able to shoot the #11's the 209's and the musket caps. Which ones are the best way to go for the most consistant firing of the loads? I went to the store to get some 209's but they were out, so I got some Musket Caps. I also have lots of #11. Thanks.....

209s are hotter and throw a bigger burst of ignition and seam to stay free of most moisture problems. They are in my opinon the best.
