RE: My accuracy is the pits
150
I read the post in the other forum and I am using the exact same scope. If going to a 100 gr (new) powder does'nt fix the problem, I believe it is going to be the scope. I am going to yank the scope and shoot it with iron sights and see what it will do. |
RE: My accuracy is the pits
A good place and easy place to start is to drop your powder charge....just because your gun can handle 150gr doesnt mean thats the best charge. I shoot a T/C Encore 209X50mag it can handle 150gr charge but shoots its best at about 90gr,thats with regular old black powder...recently i switched to Hodgdon triple seven, which i might add is awsome stuff, and it shoots the best with a 70 gr charge and either way the gun is deadly at 100+ yards....with iron sights

RE: My accuracy is the pits
Well guys I dropped back from 150 gr to (new) 100 gr Pyrodex pellets and the gun sighted in on 3 bullets. Boy it sure is alot easier on the recoil! thanks for all the tips!!!!

ORIGINAL: tnichols The pyrodex pellets I am using are 4 to 5 years old and I noticed that the seem a little fragile(parts breaking off). Do you think this could be problem? |
