Flying with blackpowder?

I will be flying back to SW Pennsylvania this thanksgiving and was wonder if anybody has any experiencing flying with blackpowder gun/equipment. I usually fly back with my 30-06 in a locked case and my ammuntion must be in a seperate case, but I feel like taking my hawken along this year. I have never had a problem taking my 30-06, but I am not sure what to expect with my hawken. My concern is mainly about the powder, and how to transport it? 777 comes in a plastic container, but it is no longer sealed since I have used about half of that powder at the range. Will the airlines allow me to transport the 777 powder? I called the customer service people at the airlines, but they were clueless to what I was referring to? Any help/ experieces would help me. Thanks in advance.

You cannot fly with loose powder or primers.

Factory loaded ammo, a non " Haz-Mat" item - - - is okay.

One problem you might have is proving the ML is unloaded. Not the same as a bolt action where you can take the bolt out & let them look down the barrel.

Might be worth shipping the gun back. I think you can ship a ML to a private address. I' m guessing you' re heading back to visit family.

Not at all-- they are X-Rayed, and I fly a lot with muzzleloaders.
