Loads for CVA Optima 29
 

I just bought my first muzzleloader a Blued CVA Optima Pro. After reading several threads, Im going to start out with Tripple Seven powder and 245g areo tip powerbelts and work up a load.
Im curious what load/ bullet combination are working for you guys.
How are your guns perfoming at distance.

I tried hornandy xtp.44 cal. bullets w/sabot, barnes bullets 260 gr., 295 gr. powerbelts in mine and it wouldnt shoot any of them worth a darn(100 gr. pyrodex pellets), then i tried the 348 gr. powerbelts and they shoot awesome, 1/2 in. groups at 50 yds.,have not shot them at 100 yds. yet but if they shoot that good at 50 they shoot be at a 1 1/2 -2 in. at 100. The 348 gr. are the hollow points not the polymer tip ones. Well GOOD HUNTING/DEAN

Try 2 pellets and a 300 grain Barnes Expander?Knight Red Hot (same thing)
