I was right on the money with the weight of the Knight. I put it on my USPS scale and it is 8 lb 12 oz! I won't be taking that one for long walks! If I really want to go light I'll carry my Encore 50 cal pistol in a shoulder rig.or sling.

And we told you to get the Ulite barreled action instead of the Mountaineer too. ;) After owning a 26" barrel ML that only weighs 7.6lbs ready to hunt ive come to love light weight MLs.

Well GM I don't really worry about the weight too much as long as it shoots where I want it to. Like I said, I'll carry my .50 cal Encore pistol or my .45 cal Encore Pro Hunter it I want to go light. Except when I go up to my cabin most of my hunting is done within 500-700 yards of where I park my vehicle.
I know that's not far but most of these places are about as far from a road as you can get. I've shot many a decent buck within rock throwing distance of a highway. But you have to understand my hunting area. Its crisscrossed with highways, dirt roads and strip mine pits and a lot of it is covered with scrub oak and mountain laurel making for tough hunting in tight quarters.
