Love my .58

As I'm heading to TX to visit my grandsons for the holidays I went to the range and shot my .58 Bob Hoyt barrel. Wow that thing can shoot. Only fired 2 shots at 50 yards and they hit right where i was auming and 1" apart. She's ready for flintlock season.

Bronko--- hope you have great luck in Texas! You really need a big gun to fit in with those Texans!

I guess I wasn't clear enough. I won't be hunting in Texas. Only going there to visit my family. When I get back to PA the late primitive season will be going on. I really want to shoot a deer with my .58. I've been carrying my caplock .58 during rifle season a few days but when I get back I'll be toting the flinlock.
I also have my Pedersoli Frontier rifle .50 ready to go as a back up rifle. Its sighted in with 250 gr REAL bullets. That's a real purdy gun! And it is actually lighter than my .58 Renegade.

Just an after thought. My friend went with me to shoot his flintlock and was laughing when he saw me loading the Frontier rifle. He sais if that barrel was any longer I'd need a step ladder to load it.

Bobby has done 2 .58s for me. One percussion, and one flint. both are super accurate with patched round ball. they are my favorite deer rifles cause they most time put the deer down in place, or only a short distance away from where hit.

I've owned a bunch of T/C flinters in my day and the lock that is on my .58 I've had for years. It is the fastest lock I've ever used. It's like shooting a caplock.
