Accurate mold

1 Attachment(s)
I got my 44-390 mold from Accurate Molds yesterday and got it all cleaned up and properly lubed.
I started casting today and probably cast 300 or so. The mold throws a really nice bullet and this is the first mold I ever had where almost every bullet dropped out of the mold without tapping.
I did notice that this mold required a slow fill from my Lee bottom pour pot. Too fast and I would get wrinkles in the bullet. My lead temp was right at 725 per my thermometer.

What did the bullets weigh?

I don't know Ron. I'm in Florida and I only brought my melting pot and other casting stuff down with me. I did use pure lead to cast them. I will have to do the sorting by weight once I get back up north.

Thanks JW. When I get back up north I'll be weighing and sorting and paper patching them and shoot them out of my .45 T/C Hawken with a GM LRH barrel and my .45 T/C Encore Pro Hunter. I hope they shoot as good as they look.
Ron and Lewis put me on to paper patched bullets a couple years ago and I picked their brains getting as much info as I could. The paper patching is a bit time consuming but on the plus side you don't have to mess with bullet lube and you get no lead fouling in the bore either.
