Knight 52 LRH
Guys tell me about this rifle. How good is it. I don't care about bullets being hard to find. I'm not concerned about that. I''d really like to hear from current Knight owners. All I'm interested in is value, quality and accuracy.
Thanks a bunch |
It is a very good rifle mechanically. Really basically the same thing as DISC Extreme with a larger bore. Mine shot great!

Does it use a bare 209 primer or is a disc needed? |

May I ask why you got rid of it?
Even if you might want to shoot full bore even a more limited supply The thing that I did like was the 1-26 twist. Does it use a bare 209 primer or is a disc needed? |
Sabot do you know the bore diameter specs. I was thinking that I could possibly get a .515", 450 grain bullet mold from Lee and paper patch them bringing up the diameter to approximately .522". Thoughts.

I have talked for several years about the .515 bullets and paper patching. A very thin paper would get you to .52 pretty easy. If you had to have a sizer made in the .519 range then the sky would be the limit.
I have old pattern paper for making dresses that would only give .004 to the bullet to put it at .519 That should be perfect. |

The paper I have adds .004 total to a bullet. Two wraps of .001= .004

Wow that is some thin paper. I just may try that should I decide on the rifle. First I'll see what the bore diameter is.

Knight used to sell a grey/silver color sabot for the .52, you could use .458 diameter bullets with that sabot in the .52 I believe.

Parker Productions sells 52cal conical for around $17/10 plus shipping. Free shipping on a $100 order. Same brand of conical that Knight offers.
https://parkerproductionsinc.com/col...itional-hunter Accurate Molds might offer a 52cal or you can have them make a .515 mold larger. Their website is offline atm. |

Well as much as this rifle intrigued me the auction price is getting to high. I do have a 700ML on the way so by the time I get a Badger Industries 209 ignition system installed I'll have spent almost all my mad money. (including the stainless rings and scope that I ordered yesterday)! Oh well maybe another time.

With the right upgrades the 700ML will make a fine rifle. Its just so hard to beat a Rem700 platform when it comes to customizing it and tons of stuff will also fit the 700ML.
