Tennessee Mountain Rifle
Hi guy's long time......I just purchased a new "Drum and Nipple" for My Tennessee Mountain Rifle, the Drum needs to come around about another half turn to line up with the Hammer.. What should I do, take off some of the bottom of the Drum Threads so it will come around more> Thank's, Ron

I was going to post some pics but it said I was missing a "Security Token" if anyone can help me out with this it would be appreciated as I want to post and add some other pics.

I would look at that very carefully, taking the bottom off may not change where it seats, the threads may be seating on the outside and may have to be extended to let it turn in father.

Thank's lemoyne, for now I got a small brass washer and worked it to fit the around the Drum threads and exact width, then filed and polished it to the exact thickness to allow the Drum to line up perfect with the Hammers firing position. I would add Pics if I can get someone to help with the "Security Token" it says I'm missing to do so.

Fine looking rifle Ron. What caliber is that?

.50 I bought it for My Father in Law back in the late 80's, I shot my first Mler Buck with it. He's not in good health now and wanted me to have it back so I did a bunch of work to it and promised him I'd shoot a Deer with it next season, maybe a couple ;)

I'd say that you remedied that thread discrepancy handily!
Very good. |
