You will see far more good reviews of the Optima V2 than bad. Add a better plug and BH209 is a very good powder to use. ATM the Lehigh CVA BH209 plug and a Fed209A primer is looking like one of the best ways to go. Its $26 plus shipping at Lehigh Defense and they ship fast. Just got a plug from them this week for my Knight. Might need to look around for the Optima. This time of year they sell out quick.

What's the main difference between the Lehigh plug and the CVA one? I notice the Lehigh page mentions a "replaceable liner" for the ignition channel. What is this and how is it different?

The vent liner is your flash hole. Its made out of 17-4 SS which is far better than 416ss for this application. When the hole grows too large you just replace the vent liner. Its about $5-$6 vs buying a whole new breach plug. Get a 1/8" hex head drill bit too. You will want one to clean out carbon in the flash CHANNEL. The flash hole or vent liner in the case of the Lehigh plug is also closer to the primer. You will get a bit more heat to the powder.

I trust no one actually uses a drill with the bit---just pokes in there by hand?

Hex head bit in a nut driver handle or a regular bit in a pin vise. Most screwdriver sets that have changeable tips are the same size as the hex. Such as the $14 Wheeler kit i use.

The breech plug cleaning procedure can be found here. The carbon fouling in the flash channel can be HARD, a pin vise or wooden dowel helps you rotate the drill bit by hand to clear it out.

I use bits like these. They even work by hand if you dont let it go too long before cleaning. They are around $5 for the set.

Plus it does not include sights or a scope base. So in reality is gunna be more expensive after you buy any good base/rings.

After the season is over you will probably see Walmart blow out their MLs. Optimas will be around $200 in SS/black with a few going for less.

I recently saw a CVA Optima LR with blue or nitride barrel (not sure which one) at Walmart for $329.
