Bore is too rusted, now what?

Long story, short. I was given my grandpa's CVA Wolf (pre quick release Breech plug). The bore is too rusted to use and breech plug is seized. It looks like this gun is worthless. My question is, how do I dispose of it?

Package it up and mail it to me.

But seriously, if you want rid of it figure ito what shipping would be and let me know.

Try to sell it for parts on eBay.

Seized breech plugs can be removed with time and a good soak in a 50/50 mix of automatic transmission fluid and acetone. Rusted bores will sometimes clean up quite well (plug bore, fill with Evapo-Rust, let sit for a day, and scrub with patches wrapped with steel wool). Even if the bore is pitted it may be quite accurate. Be careful with Evapo-Rust. It will remove the bluing if you get it on the outside of the bore.

Semisane gave you good advice
you might try sending it to CVA as it has a LIFETIME warranty and ask their opinion and your options

First, go to auto parts store and get Evapo rust soak everything in it that is rusty; then do what semi said , it might not be as bad as you think even if it is and you want to save it have it bored to a larger caliber and get the twist you want.

Ditto! I used Evapo Rust and it worked great! Just don't get it on the outside as it will removing the bluing on the outside of the bore. Like they said above the bore may be pitted, but it may still shoot great??? It's worth the cost of Evapo Rust to try first, and take it to the range to find out. Just follow normal cleaning and oiling procedures there after.

Not covered by lifetime warranty

First off, the lifetime warranty is only for the original owner and it is not transferable.
Secondly, it does not cover rust, corrosion or neglect.

Perhaps they can provide a new barrel and breech plug if they had the parts, but that would not be covered under the lifetime warranty.

or take gun to a good smith and see what they say, many can save a LOT of things

You can give Bob Hoyt a call and talk to him. Maybe he can bore it out and reline it and put any twist rate you'd like. I don't have the number handy but he is located in Fairfield, PA
Another thought, call CVA and see if they can send you another barrel for it.
