Default R.E.A.L. 250 Grain

Jonathan (MountainDevil54) provided the 250 grain R.E.A.L. bullet, and wad.

The distance between the rifle, and the horse is 25 yard. The powder charge is 80 grain Blackhorn Powder.

The bullet bounced off the sixth (last) jug, and lay right there down on the ground.

Hell yes!!! I am blown away with the penetration and weight retention! Awesome stuff!

I just chronographed this bullet today. I shoot 80gr Pyrodex P with the veg wad under the bullet. 1,566 FPS

Driven by 80 grains of BH 209 that bullet was scooting along pretty fast. Good test.

I forgot to mention, these reals were cast from pure lead to. Thats a heck of a bullet design IMO. Most conicals with pure lead pan cake or have the longer mushroom/shank like on the no excuses.

Tell Lewis it was cast from old lead pipe like all my conicals and round balls. The bullet above is frosty from the lube on it.

I will send some of the chilled lead reals without the lube ( will supply lube for them in a separate container )..

That real hits like a freight train though! Im glad I got them shooting in this rifle. Its nice casting something thats accurate and hits like crazy lol.

thank you again Ron, I appreciate this test!

Jon, I would be happy with this little bullet!! For pure lead it did VERY well!! I just suspected that it was 1 of your harder Chilled Shot bullets you mentioned making in the Traditional section? I would have thought this little 250 Grain R.E.A.L. of pure lead Would have FLATTENED out a BUNCH, Glad I didn’t have a bet on it, i would have Lost! Have you shot these at a true 100 yards? If so, What kind of Accuracy are you getting?

Lewis, (AKA Idaholewis)
