Fury 275g Bonded Bullet

Omega45 provided the 45 caliber 275 grain Star Tip 0.452" FURY bonded bullet.

Distance between rifle, and horse was 25 yard. Powder load was 80 grain Blackhorn.

The bullet severely damaged the front jug, destroyed the second jug, damaged the third, and fourth jug, holed the fifth, and sixth (last) jug. The bullet tore about 3/4" deep into the phone book, then backed into, and was held by the last jug.

Probably should have sent you the non-bonded .452" for trial.

Wow! with 80 grains and only slight deformation...

Man talk about a money saver. Reusable muzzleloader bullets. You would imagine from your description of the destruction of the first 2 jugs that it mushroomed. Maybe that star type forming of the nose created a really harsh vortex with the spin rate? Kind of how those Lehigh Xtreme penetrator bullets work. Hard to imagine anything else given the small size of the hollow cavity. Unless maybe it keyholed.

While the results on Rons test were not up to specs Dennis has advised this has not been the case with deer harvested with the above mentioned bullet. I believe smokeless has been used on those harvests.
