Default Lyman Muzzleloader recall

I received an email today from Midsouth Shooters Supply on this topic. Without coping the entire message I just copied the meat of the email. See below.
Products:
This recall includes black powder rifles and pistols regardless of caliber (including Deerstalker, Great Plains, Great Plains Hunter, Trade Rifle, Plains Pistol, Black Powder Kits, and replacement barrels; excluding Percussion Left Hand Great Plains and Left Hand Great Plains Hunter models) manufactured from March 1, 2017 to December 22, 2017. Barrels with the serial number in the range of A595960–A599026 are subject to this recall.

Safety Warning:
Lyman has determined that some black powder rifles and pistols could, under certain circumstances, develop separation in the breech plug, which may pose a potential safety hazard. Please do not load or use any rifles or pistols subject to this recall.
How to Identify Rifles and Pistols Subject to the Recall:
Find the serial number where the barrel meets the tang, opposite of the lock. The serial number has the letter “A” followed by a series of 6 numbers.

Although I don't own one, thank you for sharing that.

The breech plug broke at the barrel juncture. Looks like it's cast metal:

This is serious.

Maybe it is and was used in that range of serial numbers. If so, I be they'll go back to forged breech plugs.

Their stocks are also cracking badly due to poor wood quality. I've seen some posts and the short cuts lyman is taking, tells me they are on a down fall. 1/8 wood over hang around metal parts on a factory gun, just not good.

I recently bought a .54 cal. Deerstalker that was a recall gun. Waiting on Lyman to send a barrel box.

I think an Italian company named Investarms used to make some, maybe all of their black powder arms. I have a Hawken made by that company back in the 1980's, it is a beautiful gun. Sorry to see a good product go downhill.
