New Acquisition!!!
So a buddy of mine had this handgun he wanted and it was mine. He had a Traditions Vortex that he wanted to trade plus some cash. I said ok, because I wanted one I could now use in Virginia for hunting.
Will need to buy a cope and I'm looking for one now. I will run different loads through it to find the bet on. Now if the weather will calm down and be nice for a change!!! |
bought one of those vortex pistol @ a gun shop brand new for 200 bucks & can't use it for muzzy hunting but can use it to hunt squirrels & etc but not legal for deer . i lovethis gun same exact one that is pictured. having a hard time finding scope rail mount it's a 183a. finally may of found one & will be putting a scope on it. i shoot 70 grains of bh209 & a barnes300 grain expander hollow point.love this set up can't wait to put a scope on it. and i just found out that i can use it on a christmas tree farm for deer damage. i talked to traditions & they say my load is good up to 100 yrds. but they recommend staying withing 75yrds.

I would be all over one in 45cal. They would be a hoot with Ed's 350gr conical and a bit easier to load than a tight fitting sabot.

Used to have one a few years ago, 70grains of Wano(real black powder on my country) and a 240gr XTP did the job on a warthog nicely. But I traded it on a 12g b/p shotgun, more practical for my farmtrips...
|
Glad about the use of BH209. I’m partial to it. I will check different billets but for this gun I would think the 300 gr. XTP would be nice.

great looking gun

You only have a 70gr. maximum recommended load for that pistol. I went with the CVA Optima V2 pistol with 100gr. max. I shoot 80gr of BH209 in her, super accurate for a 14" barrel, but hold on tight!!!:D
