Another bullet from another vendor Fury Custom bullets has 225gr, 250gr and 275gr 40cals ready to order. Bonded are $44/50 and regular are $36/50.

The 225gr should be sabot friendly and the 250gr might be. Ive yet to see sabot tests confirming it.

The Fury 250gr 40cal is .946 so in theory it should shoot in a fast twist 45cal 1-20 even at 2000fps or a bit less. 2100fps should be possible in a Knight SUPER DISC.

The easiest, cheapest, and most effective way to ml hunt is with smokeless powders in an approved smokeless ml.

I could easily load that bullet to 2300fps in my Savage with a small amount of N120, Reloder7 or 4198. That kind of speed is simple in a 45cal sml. Using that heavy of a bullet though in a 45cal sabot is rather uncommon. Very little has been done with anything over 200gr in that application.

At only $36/50 for the unbonded it sounds like its worth trying. Cheaper than Cecils DCs or QTs.

A guy on another board clocked his sabotless 40cal Barnes 300gr with 84gr by weight of BH209

Velocity was 2164fps with a full formed bullet. So its basically close to a 405Win in performance. Load data from Barnes says 2136fps and a BC in the .280 range.
