my usual RB in lead is .490 + typ matress ticking (what? .015 thick x 2 for any given diameter ) giving a firm .520 seat and it works well...(not sure of bore/land measurements) A .495 RB +0.15 Patch (.525 seat) is doable but tight.
So, .505-.451 CuRB=.054 patch that divided by 2 = .027

what material is that thick? leather could be, denim? canvas?
I have a sample ticking impregnated with a 50/50 bees wax/lard that is really thick I'll have to measure it and check.

What about SS 1/2" slingsot balls? any one know their true diameter? except those are really too hard.
