What are they called and where do you find them?

Fury Custom Bullets. His 452 250gr Spitzer is only $32/50. Dino said he can make the 40cals from 170gr to 300gr. ATM im not sure about the actual cost of a 250gr bonded 40cal other than its under a buck each.

For those that desire 200+ yard accuracy using a 50-cal ML with these long, narrow 40-cal bullets, good luck with that. I tried going this route using the PRBullet Extreme Elite 260gr in 50/40. There is a limit on distance-accuracy where extra long & extra narrow muzzleloader bullets exist.

My range experience was limited to the Extreme Elite's all-lead bullet construction. These copper-clads above may fly a little straighter than lead..... may not..... I dunno!

That is most likely why they are intended for 45cals with a faster twist. Justin at Knight shot a winning match with long 240gr copper 40cals not long ago. The middle bullet is a tad long for common twist rates in 45 or 50cal MLs. It will probably need a 1-24 and atleast 2100fps to stabilize. The flat nose on the left should stabilize in more commonly available rifles and with less required muzzle velocity. If not simply try a lighter bullet....its not rocket science to understand a 230gr 40cal will have a higher sectional density than a 230gr 45cal and more than likely a far better BC too.

His interest in making these was due to the need of fast twist 45cal shooters who still want to shoot sabots occasionally and 40cal sabotless shooters. Nobody offers a bonded 40cal made for muzzleloader in any weight.

They are a copper jacket that is bonded to the lead. Not a plating like DeepCurls, Harvester PTs or Rainier bullets. IIRC the jackets are .020 thick.

Many SML guys are migrating to 40cal sabotless and high BC 40cals are few and far between especially when we start talking about 300gr options.
