T/C Pro Hunter Breech Plug Question
I purchased a T/C Pro Hunter today and have a quick question. For some reason, the Breech Plug doesn't seem to screw into completely square (even when using the tool). It gets very, very close but is still just off-center with the alignment spot.
Is this normal or something I should be concerned about? Any thoughts? Thank you! |
cross-threaded?

If it turns far enough to allow the action to go into battery, and you can shoot the rifle, isn't it OK then? If it doesn't turn far enough, so you can shoot the rifle, then obviously there is a problem.
Um...., i don't know anything about your rifle, and i didn't stay in a motel last night. .. |
I'm assuming.............. that it may be one of the 1/4 turn breech plugs? If so, it can be common for it to not line up with it completely seated. I'm assuming you need to back it off ever so slightly to align the extractor?
I stayed in a motel last night. My wife owns it and calls it her home. ;) |
when the two lines line up you pull the breach plug out; line them up to put it back in then turn BP approximately 90 degrees to the right to put it in the firing position.
