New Scope
Looking to buy a new scope for my stock Savage 50cal and would like a BDC reticle. Not crazy about the circle reticles like the Nikon's have. Two possible candidates so far are the Vortex Viper and the Leupold VX2, Budget is $400.00, recommendations?.

The Viper is an excellent scope. This one is $30 over your budget.
Generous 4" of eye relief too. https://www.muzzle-loaders.com/optic...-hs-scope.html |
I have the Leupold Ultimate Slam muzzleloader scope on my CVA Accura V2. Nice and clear and well within your budget. No experience with the Vortex line.

If you are considering a Ultimate Slam i would also look at the Redfield Revolution. Same warranty and reticle but cost less. Made in the same factory too.
It almost looks like the same scope with Redfield branding. |

Isn't Redfield to Leupold sort of like Diamond Bows is to BowTech? Same maker just a cheaper line?

Hows about instead of a ballistic reticle, one uses a ballistic dial? This scope is a $100 less at a store near you. A 3X-9X is also available. You will have $50 left over for bullets, and powder.

Yes I was looking at the Leupold CDS sytem Ron, They will do one free turret with purchase.

I hope you find the scope you like. Take your time and look through a lot of glass. Unless you have one in particular on your mind.
