I know , that's the worst part , it's below zero right now and looks like it will be that way for a little while . So the range report may be a week or two off . Looks like it might be ok as a buffalo gun though . :)

That is one beautiful rifle! Shoot Chet it is only 10-20* over here but I would shoot it for you in heart beat! I really wish I had gotten one of them rather the Ultra Mag I got and thought it was heaven!

Crap :(:(:(:(:(:( I really messed up!!! I wonder if Doc has anymore of them?

toytruck 12-06-2016 03:35 PM

You lucky dog!! Now that is a thing of beauty. If I were to buy another muzzleloader that would be the one! Congrats!!

super_hunt54 12-06-2016 04:16 PM

Now just don't forget the damn thing is in yer gun safe!!!

cayugad 12-06-2016 04:28 PM

I heard you are having a blizzard out there. Its cold and snowing, strong winds here too. So we both have to wait to shoot our new rifles. That is a real fine looking gun. Are you going to use BH209 in that?

If I shoot 260 Dead Centers I will use Blackhorn, right now I plan on shooting big lead like Ed's 465's in which case I still use pyrodex p .

1874sharpsshooter 12-06-2016 04:47 PM

Thanks everyone for the compliments. It is hard to believe I actually have a Tbolt- gonna take some time to sink in ,:)

Not only do you have a T-Bolt, but you have it in a 451!! :happy0001: I would try Swiss 3F or 777-3F if you can't get Swiss.

I use to use triple 7 which I have plenty of , but went back to pyrodex p . I have goex but only in 2f . So for now I think I will continue to use pyrodex p . . At least in my 451 Whites . And expecially those with #11 caps . Since the tbolt is 209 I guess I will have to think about it a little bit . Sometimes it's hard to break old habits though :)

MountainDevil54 12-06-2016 08:32 PM

WAUGH! Ain't ye heard? That Pyro-poop will turn that bore into a city sewer pipe even after cleanin it!

fusion 12-07-2016 03:40 AM

Great looking Rig !!

Grouse45 12-07-2016 04:45 AM

That might be the best Looking White Rifle ive ever seen.

You guys all complain about it being to cold to shoot. Thats when i like to shoot the most. I dont like the wind but -5 is great temps to shoot and no worries of the barrel getting to hot.

Yea , guess I am getting wimpy in my old age:)
-17 right now gonna be colder tomorrow morning .
But is suppose to be a high today of 10. Just the wind is always blowing across the prairie. Hunting I can go in this weather but just to a range session I just have a hard time . My knees hurt enough to make me wimp out :)

super_hunt54 12-07-2016 05:14 AM

Them pups just don't understand do they Chet!

Semisane 12-07-2016 06:46 AM

Well, I guess it's OK if you can't get your hands on a classic CVA Bobcat.

Gm54-120 12-07-2016 07:16 AM

You should try that old gal with some BH209 and some 460gr conicals. IIRC Doc tested the Thunderbolts with BH209 and even low doses of XMP5744 (using a sabot).

70grV of BH209, a veggie wad and a 460gr really thumps in my Super DISC and shoots very well too.

Omega218er 12-07-2016 08:06 AM

Very very nice! Congrats and enjoy!

gman57 12-07-2016 09:46 AM

That is a real beauty, something to think about for the future.

I'd try that in my jeep but it has an all steel cab on top along with no carpeting,so that ringing might knock me out LOL.

I think I might just have to do it that way . Good idea Ron .

rafsob 12-10-2016 06:25 AM

Good luck with the new gun. I was never much for the bolt action type ML'ers. I prefer break open rifles in an inline.

alleyyooper 12-17-2016 02:51 AM

Isn't cold out yet. Well for city slickers, I guess it is cause the ranges have been empty all week.

We went coyote hunting Thursday in the full moon with the snow on the ground and it was only -2 below. Ya there was a little wind but I didn't have the weather station with me to know the chill factor.

:D Al

Yep it's the wind I don't like. It's -18 right now but the wind makes it -33 Unfortunately it seems the wind is always blowing .
